The Ravenna neighborhood, also known as the Ravenna-Bryant district, is a residential neighborhood in Northeast Seattle. Many businesses are additionally located in the neighborhood, and it's close proximity to theUniversity of Washington makes it home to many college students and families. A public library, several excellent schools, and a variety of local ammenities are all within walking distance in the neighborhood.
During the 1800's, Ravenna became a destination for people to escape urban civilization and retreat into the natural woods. Since then, Ravenna has retained much of it's natural appeal, especially in the vast environs of the Ravenna Ravine. The ravine, a part of the larger Ravenna and Cowen parks, has been recently daylighted, to reconnect the Ravenna Creek to Lake Washington and restore the creeks's natural path of flow.
